Airbus announces orders for A320 Family aircraft

Airbus made two announcements at the air show this morning.
The first one concerns the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding by new low cost airline GoAir for the acquisition of ten A320 Family aircraft plus ten options. [...]
The second announcement concerned low cost carrier Adam Air of Indonesia, which has selected the A320 Family for its fleet modernisation. The carrier confirmed its intention to build up a fleet of 30 aircraft over the next five years.

Showcasing at Singapore the most modern aircraft flying today

Speaking to the media, Airbus President and CEO Gustav Humbert flanked by COOs Charles Champion and John Leahy, stressed the commercial success of Airbus which achieved record results in 2005, and the warm response of airlines and airports to the A380. The aircraft, which visited Singapore once before in November, is open to visitors and flying at the show every day in Singapore Airlines’ colours.

Airbus suppliers increase support to Chinese airlines

A traditional signature ceremony was held today at the Asian Aerospace air show when representatives of 23 suppliers and distributors renewed their agreements with CASC/Airbus Customer Services Support in China, in the presence of Laurence Barron, Airbus China President.

Measuring the A380 performance

Flight test engineer Patrick du Che has been working on the A380 programme since September 2004, more particularly in charge of performance. For Patrick who joined Airbus four years ago, the A380 is “a fantastic opportunity”.
